Wrote this last year, but somehow it didn't get posted here. Enjoy! Smiley

Quote:
“Yes, swing by medical and have Colonel Lake released and brought here. I’m not leaving her to Jackson’s tender mercies overnight. After that, have Foster brought here as well. In chains!”

My favorite line. *snicker*  Smiley

I love this story, Matt!  It's one of my favorites of yours.  Thanks for posting it on this forum!   Grin

Shocked  It's always the nice, quiet, respectable authors you have to watch out for.

(Amelia backs away from Matt and runs and hides behind beta.)

What do you mean I'm a yellow guild member?

This one scared me when I wrote it. Looking at it now almost a year later I can see loads of mistakes. Another one to add to my re-write list. Not really a bad thing as I plan to revisit this universe in Dark SHADO. Wink

Amelia, if this one scared you, I wouldn't read Dark Desire, be warned, very adult! Shocked Wink

A spoof on Psychobombs

165 SHADO HQ Main control room.

Col. Lake has just been told that Foster is coming in with Linda Simmons.

LAKE; "He what!"

Lake storms into the Commander’s office.

LAKE; "Foster is bringing Linda Simmons to the studio." Pauses. "Commander did you hear what I said?"

STRAKER; "I heard."

LAKE; Worried, frustrated. "But she is programmed to kill you."

STRAKER; "Her target is also this control. I’d rather fight that situation on my own terms. When she arrives take her straight to room twenty-two."

LAKE; "But Commander…"

STRAKER; Perturbed. "That’s all, Colonel."

Lake is brought up short and storms out of the office working up a good mad. She runs into Foster in the corridor and pulls out her pistol and shoots him dead.

Close up Lake’s face; A satisfying smile and a nod.

As much as I pick on Paul, he can be a very strong and likable character when written well. Wink

Actually, I think she was ready to shoot both Foster and Straker for being idiots in that one.

Well, the script certainly wrote them both acting foolishly!  Do you have any idea how hard it was to try to give either of them a decent reason in my story 'The Bodyguard'?  Sheesh!  What were they thinking?  :Smiley

Almost as bad as The Responsibility Seat. As I remember Foster did okay in that one. I have no idea what Ed was thinking! Shocked

Poor writing.  That's all I can say.  I have to admit, I haven't yet come across any UFO fanfic that was as bad as some of those scripts.  Close, maybe.  But definitely not that badly written!  Cheesy
